Axis of Logic
Thursday, Dec 11, 2008
"It's the economy, stupid!" was the
Clinton-Gore campaign slogan in 1992
It's not the economy, stupid!
There's the trillions of dollars war budget,
and over 700 U.S. military bases throughout the world
and the weapons manufacturers, the mercenaries,
the sudden fastfood and other amenities
all feeding the green-zone fix and then some.
It's not the economy, stupid!
There's no maximum wage and the minimum wage
is too minimum, and how many banks
will lower their rates to let people stay home?
And when will the bankers fore-open their hearts?
It's not the economy, stupid!
There's the fear and the greed,
and some pseudo-economist put the cart before the horse.
Stupid!
Greenspan didn't live up to his name.
Paulson pulls a fast one.
Economy-size has been downsized.
Since the American Indians on reservations,
since the railroads and landgrab mining of resources--
people have been downsized to the poverty level.
Now it's the bailout epidemic.
Then again, for those struggling to eat
or stay warm anywhere in this global village. . .
it IS the economy,
the divvied up, drawn-and-quartered,
keeping up with the Jones', my male enhancement
product is bigger than your enhancement,
my age-defying smooth skin is smoother
than your dog-eat-dog ass no cap capitalista
ECONOMY.
