The protest called on the BBC to reverse its decision to refuse to broadcast an appeal for Gaza by the Disasters Emergency Committee
The march then proceeded to Trafalgar Square to be greeted by the news that ITV, Channel Four and Channel 5 had decided to broadcast the appeal.
Tony Benn to BBC:
"If you won't broadcast the Gaza appeal then I will myself"
Tony Benn accuses the BBC ON AIR of capitualating to the Israeli Government by refusing to air an appeal for the Gazan people by the Disaster Emergency Commitee (DEC) he then broadcasts the Address himself much to the consternation of the interviewer!
