I call on and insist that the United States government not recognize the results of the upcoming November 29 elections in Honduras.
If the United States recognizes these blatantly fraudulent elections, it will be clear that this government is and has been all along an accomplice to the crimes committed by the de facto government of Roberto Micheletti against the people of Honduras.

Since June 28 when democratically elected President Jose Manuel Zelaya was ousted at gunpoint by the military, the illegal government of Micheletti has created a state of terrorism against those who oppose the coup, resulting in 129 people murdered including children and elderly, 288 injured, and 2980 arbitrarily detained. It has imposed a climate of fear, intimidation and the suppression of the most basic rights of free association and speech. It has closed media outlets that are opposed to the coup, has militarized the country and has targeted the leadership of the resistance for surveillance and harassment thus endangering their lives.

Under this climate there are absolutely no conditions to hold fair, honest or transparent elections. How can democratic elections take place when the most basic electoral activities such as campaigning have not been able to take place?

Furthermore, the announcement by the de facto government of increased militarization and a "Contingency Plan" for health care services from November 19 through December 4, making as many hospital beds available as possible, suggest a sinister and ominous plan for a massive escalation of criminal violence against the population.

I not only express my concern, but state loudly and clearly that I firmly oppose the destructive and interventionist role played by the United States government, its corporations in Honduras and its lobbying firms that have worked on behalf of the coup forces. I in addition condemn the media and accuse it of complicity for never giving voice to the people in Honduras who are resisting the criminal military coup d'état keeping the people in the United States unaware of the real and dangerous situation.

The United States has Honduran blood on its hands. Through its involvement in the Honduran coup, it has continued its long history of siding with the criminal dictatorships in Latin America against the honest aspirations of the majority of the people in the region.

Therefore, I demand, on behalf of the future generations both in the United States and in Honduras and the rest of the world, that the U.S. cease and desist from aiding criminal governments like the de facto government in Honduras, by not recognizing the November 29 elections.

Yo exige que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos no reconozca el resultado de las elecciones en HONDURAS del 29 de noviembre.

Si Estados Unidos reconoce estas elecciones descaradamente fraudulentas, quedará claro que este gobierno es y ha sido cómplice de los crímenes cometidos por el gobierno de facto de Roberto Micheletti contra el pueblo de Honduras.

Desde el 28 de junio cuando el Presidente democráticamente elegido José Manuel Zelaya fue expulsado a punta de pistola por los militares, el gobierno ilegal de Micheletti ha creado un estado de terrorismo contra quienes se oponen al golpe de Estado, resultando en 129 personas asesinadas incluyendo niños y ancianos, 288 heridos y 2980.detenidos arbitrariamente Se ha impuesto un clima de miedo, intimidación y supresión de los derechos más básicos de libre asociación y expresión. Ha cerrado medios de comunicación que se oponen al golpe, ha militarizado el país y ha apuntado el liderazgo de la resistencia para la vigilancia y el acoso, poniendo así sus vidas en peligro.

En este clima no hay condiciones para celebrar ninguna elección que pueda ser un proceso honesto y transparente. ¿Cómo se pueden celebrar elecciones democráticas cuando las acciones electorales más básicas como la de hacer campañas políticas no se han podido ejercer?

Además, el anuncio por el gobierno de facto de una creciente militarización y un "plan de contingencia" para los servicios de atención médica desde el 19 de noviembre hasta el 4 de diciembre, disponiendo del mayor número de camas de hospital, revelan un plan siniestro que alerta a una intensificación masiva de la violencia criminal en contra de la población.

Yo no sólo quisiera expresar mi preocupación, sino que también quiero expone en voz alta y clara que firmemente me opongo y acuso el papel destructivo e intervencionista desempeñado por el gobierno de Estados Unidos, sus empresas en Honduras y sus grupos de cabildeo que han trabajado en nombre de las fuerzas del golpe de estado. Además, condeno y acuso a los medios de comunicación cómplices que nunca han dado voz a las personas en Honduras que se resisten al criminal golpe de estado militar, manteniendo al pueblo en los Estados Unidos desinformado sobre la situación real y peligrosa.

Estados Unidos tiene sangre hondureña en sus manos. A través de su participación en el golpe de estado de Honduras, ha continuado su larga historia de envolvimiento en pro de las dictaduras criminales en América Latina y en contra de las honestas aspiraciones de la mayoría de los pueblos en la región.

Por lo tanto exijo, en nombre de las generaciones futuras, tanto en los Estados Unidos como en Honduras y el resto del mundo, que Estados Unidos cese y desista de ayudar a los gobiernos criminales como el gobierno de facto en Honduras, no reconociendo las elecciones del 29 de noviembre.
