Pennsylvania State Police: "Police Brutality worse than Rodney King" Printer friendly page Print This

Editor's Comment: Please do not think of this treatment by the police in the United States to be an exception. These attacks on US citizens are happening every day - and worse, e.g. the murders of 2 Latino citizens, one while handcuffed, the other while laying on the ground wounded by the police - both shot in the head, in Anahem, California two weeks ago. The only exception we take with Larry Hohol, former Pennsylvania police officer and producer of this video is the underlined portion of his final statement:

"The vast majority of police officers are compassionate, caring professionals. It is how we handle the officers who aren't that differentiates us from third world countries. Right now it looks like Pennsylvania and its state police are operating as a third world country by allowing and covering up serious assaults against its citizens. The beating of shackled prisoners for any reason is not acceptable by anyone's standards."

His attempt to distinguish other countries from the United States as being "third world" is simply lost on us.

The "vast majority" of federal, state and local police in the United States can hardly be characterized as "compassionate, caring professionals." We must remember that their job is ultimately to suppress dissent by whatever means necessary while in full service to the most oppressive and deadly government in the world today.
