This song first appeared on the album 'Phil Ochs in Concert' [Elektra Records] in 1966 although Ochs had been singing it in live performances for at least a year by that time. It is noteworthy that now, almost 50 years later, there is very little change at the 'thirsty border' - and the thirsty borders everywhere.

The genius of Phil Ochs is sadly missing today.
