Q & A

Are you really a product of Empire,
tight-jawed, compartmentalized, metal scannered
having to spill your material guts into a plastic
container so as to gain entrance?

When did metal become bad, when did metal become
weapon, why are the ones with the most weapons
doing the most scanning?

Safety an issue but the grunting attitude of the guard
belies the 'we care so we're protecting you' subtext.

Are you really a victim of The Powers That Bank,
Sir Charged and penalty feed?
Do you aspire to be a Lord of flies,
feasting off the feces of your brethren?

Corporate is a body disconnected from mind & intuition.
The Corpor-ate and ate and ate,
became gorged,
addicted to money and corpses.

Are you over-extended,
trying to have your own way
with everyone and everything, everywhere,
complicit with the insatiable institutions--
while the front steps go unswept,
in a corner a spider unnoticed
as you endlessly search the electronic-web?

The hungry ghost's only satisfaction
is never being satisfied.

Really being
human being
relates with what is,
keeps a root in the past
and a vision of the future.

poet's note:

Hungry ghosts refers to one of the
Six Realms of existence, according to Buddhist tradition
.
