Bolivian President Evo Morales expressed his full support and solidarity with Venezuela and the government of Nicolas Maduro on Saturday, at a time when the international media is distorting information on the current situation in the country.
Morales, who met with Cuban President Raul Castro Friday, also expressed the support sent by the Cuban people to Venezuela.

"Our duty is to work with justice for the sovereignty of our peoples against the imperial threat made through the media,” said Morales, as he arrived in Caracas from Habana.

“You can count with Evo and the support of social movements, we are an anti-imperialist family that does not rest in the fight… Let’s have unity in our democratic revolution, that is our call," the Indigenous head of state added.

Morales was welcomed by Maduro at the Maiquetia International Airport.

He also rejected the latest statements by the Secretary-General of the Organization of American States Luis Almagro, who stepped out of diplomatic protocol last week when he penned a hostile tirade to President Maduro, accusing him of spreading lies and sliding toward becoming a “petty dictator.”

“He can not make that institution an instrument of U.S. interventionism … The OAS can not be a U.S. Ministry of Colonies. We have sovereignty and we do not need tutelage from anyone," said Morales.

Venezuela is currently suffering from one of its worst political economic crises, fueled by a right-wing opposition bent on seeing the government fail, while some members even calling for a coup.
