Think subways are ugly? Take a look here ... Printer friendly page Print This

It can hardly be a coincidence that no language on Earth has ever produced the expression 'As pretty as an airport.'
- Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001)
The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul

I'm not sure how Adams would have viewed subways since much of the plot of this novel occurs inside London's Victoria metro station (or 'tube', as the Brits call it). But most of us would never think of them as nice to look at (or even be in).

The size of these Moscow subway masterpieces is a little hard to envisage just from photos. But from first-hand experience I can vouch that they are massive, and every bit as beautiful as these photos make them.

Sure makes the morning commute seem a little more pleasant ...
