How do you intentionally shoot and bomb innocent civilians and their food supplies, while blockading any ship with needed food and medicine? Ask the people of Yemen with cholera and all those who are starving.

How do you look at these people and watch them die, including children?

If we want to witness the death of humanitarianism and the birth of conscious evil, look no further than the destruction of the Yemeni people? While the rest of the world just watches and listens to updates of famine prediction and an increase in cholera, the UN shrugs, as if to say, 'Oh and by the way, what is happening in Yemen?'

The Saudi Arabia, U.S., and British coalition may actually cause 18.4 million people of Yemen to starve to death by year end. What does it say about all of us when we allow our governments to go to sovereign countries and kill at will?

What should a world that has lost its humanity be called? What should countries like Saudi Arabia and their supporters, the U.S., and Britain, who seem to enjoy the horror that they are causing the Yemeni people, be called?

It is hard to find the right words to describe this evil. A world that watches the dehumanizing of others and does nothing will become dehumanized themselves. Those who do the dehumanizing will make sure of that. In fact, they've started already.

In Western countries, especially the U.S., observe their governments' treatment of their own most vulnerable - the poor, the sick, the immigrants, especially Muslims, the old, the homeless. The poor for the most part are living in poverty caused by their own governments and their corporate and military elites.

Forty-eight thousand Americans get sick and die yearly because they have no health insurance. This is ensured by Senators and congressmen and women who have the best of health care for themselves paid for by the very people, the American taxpayers, who that same senate and congress refuse to provide single payer health care to. That takes sheer gall and arrogance!

The U.S. government's defunding or cancelling of social programs that benefit Americans, especially the poor, is a prime example of the American government dehumanizing its own vulnerable people which, for the most part, the government itself is responsible for creating.

Americans, for the most part, are not aware of their government's complete indifference to the suffering that same government causes. The scale of their government's inhumanity is off the charts domestically and globally.

When having humanity no longer matters and no longer exists for those in power, then those domestically and internationally who do not have power soon find out that they become the victims of a powerful systemic inhumanity.

Brutality, exploitation, barbarism, and lying become the values of the day. Governments no longer govern, schools no longer educate, the law is no longer supported, courts no longer stand for justice, drug addiction is no longer rare, police no longer protect, institutions that are the infrastructure and foundation of democracy no longer exist, the sick no longer get health care, the rich no longer pay taxes, the journalists no longer investigate, and human beings are no longer considered human.

Welcome to the early part of the 21st century where war is rampant and greed is the number one pursuit. We let those who know the least make our choices for us and they choose war.

War is a choice. So is peace! If we were to take responsibility for our own choices, who thinks we'd choose war?
