The Islamic jihad movement slammed the results of the Abbas-Mofaz saying that the meeting “did not fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people”.

Khaled Al-Batsh, a leader of the Islamic Jihad said that Mofaz uttered a series of accusations against, while the P.A did not even comment on them.

“The movement believes that the position of the P. A was wrong, Abbas as the head of the P.A, should not has agreed to meet with Mofaz, the Israeli minister of ‘War’”, Al-Batsh said.

Al-Batsh stated that such meetings could harm the Palestinian people, and are considered a bad message sent by the P.A to them.

Commenting on the movement’s position regarding talks between the Palestinian movements, Al-Batsh said that the movement will not send delegates from the occupied territories unless it receives international guarantees concerning their safe departure and return.

“So far, only the secretary of the movement and delegates in exile will be present at the meetings, the movement is not interested with who is participating as much as its interest with the outcomes of he meeting”, Al-Batsh added.

Al-Batsh did not void the issue of “Hudna”, but said that it depends on the Israeli response and actions,

“The Hudna could succeed if Israel agrees to the Palestinian terms, but if it continues the violations and escalations, the Palestinian parties might cancel it”.

Also, Al-Batsh said that the movement is till apposing to participate in the legislative elections because they stem from the Oslo accords, which the movement does not approve.

“If the basis change, and we have our Palestinian independent elections law, the movement will definitely participate in the elections”, Al-Batsh added.

Al-Batsh revealed that the movement does not appose to join the Palestinian Liberation Organization if changes occur in its institutions and councils, and if the PLO agrees to conduct elections in the National and Central Councils, and if the rest of the Palestinian factions have true intentions to join the PLO.
