Santo Domingo, Feb 15 ABN.- According to the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Dominican Republic, Francisco Belisario, Miracle Mission, as humanitarian and integrating flag boosted by the Bolivarian Government, fulfills visual dreams to thousands of Latin Americans and, practically, it gives back the life to them.

“Generally, those who go under surgery due to this Mission are people with low resources and they never imagined to have a benefit like this. The sight is given back even to those who were blind during all their life,” expressed Belisario after his arrival this Thursday to the Santo Domingo international airport, accompanied by 104 patients recently operated in Venezuela.

In an opinion that, according to him, gathers the impressions of hundreds of Dominican people already operated, Belisario considered that Miracle Mission not only solve visual problems to the most needy people, but that it is also a factor of supportive and humanist integration among the countries which make part of our America.

Thus, the Venezuelan representative in the mentioned Caribbean country considers that it is essential to spread even more the humanitarian action carried out by that mission because “our people are grateful, they are being attended and benefited without any discrimination and it has to be known. the world should know it.”

Belisario explained that “it is impressive the signs of affection, esteem, love and especially gratitude with President Hugo Chávez and Venezuelans expressed by these people and even sent in writing to the Embassy, hoping to make know their felt words.”

After the emotional arrival of the 104 Dominican patients to their country of residence, the Venezuelan ambassador insisted on that “we hace to keep working in order to make that this humanitarian mission has enough life projection and we can keep taking to all countries that Venezuelan solidarity as we have been doing all these years leaded by President Chávez.”

Regarding the receptiveness of the Miracle Mission in the Dominican people, the ambassador expressed that “acceptation here has been ion such a way that even Dominican doctors go voluntarily to hospitals in order to support in the patient's checkup.”

Consequently, he considered that “Through this mission we can definitely achieve the union among the peoples. And we are already going through it.”

The Venezuelan ambassador to the Dominican Republic offered his statements during the return of 104 Dominican patients, who last February 8th went through a surgery in Venezuela in order to solve problems as cataract and pterigium, two of the specialties attended by Venezuelan doctors.

When they arrived, Belisario showed to be fulfilled with the Dominicans' expressions of happiness and joy, who went back to their country of origin with a new sight and an improvement in their quality of life.

The Dominican Republic is located among the countries which have received more surgery operations from the Miracle Mission.

Belisario informed that since that the International Miracle Mission started, in October 2005, more than 500 Dominicans, among youth and the elderly, have recovered their visual health.

At the same time, he indicated that the expectations of the Dominican people during 2008 is to reach one thousand patients operated and to widen their abilities of attention.

Venezuela half-monthly receives, through the Miracle Mission, groups of 100 and 106 patients coming from countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, in order to operate them for free and to solve their sight problems for the rest of their lives.
