As a lawyer having practised international law at the highest level, and criminal law (among other disciplines) at all levels, I find it difficult to understand how anyone can honestly support the Apartheid solution of two states for Palestine. I have, for some years, supported the One-democratic-state solution, whereby every individual would have equal rights, without reference to his or her ethnicity or religion.

It is just not possible to dismiss the claim of refugees and their descendants to a right of return; the massive, and very efficient, propaganda campaign by Zionists and their sympathisers never even seems to address this basic human right. Happily, there are many honourable Jews, some prominent, who recognise the rights of the Palestinians.

We must not fall for the ridiculous line that any opposition to Zionism is a form of anti-semitism (in its silly "popular" meaning which ignores the fact that the majority of semites speak Arabic). 

The infamous "Quartet" was set up to ensure the survival of this Apartheid, and Mr Bush's former poodle, Mr Anthony Blair, as its representative, has no other task than to make this acceptable to our Palestinian brothers and sisters.

The indigenous people of Palestine are, of course, expected to agree to survive in a secondary status without full freedom, in accordance with guidance (or directions) from "moderate Arab leaders", who show an indecent willingness to follow whatever line might be prescribed by the governing clique in the USA and its Zionist masters.  These rulers are often far from moderate, give no sign of being able to lead, and are happy to betray their fellow Arabs, in order to keep the support and approval of those giving the orders. The worst example is perhaps the family which ruled, since it drove out the Hashemite descendants of the Prophet Mohamed, Saudi Arabia with a repressive (supposedly "Islamic") régime responsible for producing such extremists as Mr Oussama bin Laden.

Let us all work towards an end to the Apartheid and to the ethnic cleansing which are vital elements of all Zionism, whether hard-line or in its softer forms, and give full support to genuine democracy in Palestine where every inhabitant, regardless of religion or lack of it, is equal, and where thieves have to give back the booty stolen from their dispossessed victims.
