Unpleasant rumours are circulating that the Commission of the European Union is likely to propose an "upgrading" or "revaluation" of the relationship between the union and the 'state of Israel' on all levels and in all domains.
This against the perpetual backdrop of a 'state' which refuses to act in accordance with a whole series of United Nations Resolutions which would ensure some justice in the relations between, on the one hand, the invading occupiers of the Holy Land and, on the other, the indigenous inhabitants, including those who fled in terror and their descendants.
To become effective, any suggestion by the Commission will then require the support of the heads of government of every single one of the twenty-seven member states.
The fear of many, including myself, is that the said heads of government will be so cowardly that they will not dare to criticise this rogue 'state' since they will then immediately be given the defamatory description of being "anti-semitic", the silly single word which manages to strike terror into their flinty hearts by ignoring the simple fact that most semites speak Arabic, and not Hebrew, Aramaic or Maltese.
I hope and pray that at least one such head of state of a member nation, however small, will have the courage and the decency to declare his or her support for Justice without seeking praise from the massively powerful Zionist lobby.
My fears, however, remain, and I wait upon developments with the deepest apprehension.
