![]() AXIS E-ZINE SEPTEMBER, 2004 Welcome to Autumn from all of us at Axis of Logic. We are pleased to resume the Axis of Logic Ezine after a summer break, in which we participated in national protests against the corporate wars and other abuses of the U.S. government. Throughout the summer, we also worked to provide news and commentary that we hope has given readers an alternative to the propaganda of the corporate media. We have reported first-hand the measures taken during the Democratic National Convention in Boston to protect those who presume to speak for the people, from hearing the voices of the people. We have also been unrelenting in our stand against the domestic and foreign policies and practices voiced at the Republican National Convention and their 4 year reign of international terror that has been so devasting to so many. Our columnists have have written commentary on the ongoing assault on the working people of the world by the U.S. government and its global corporate allies; on the continued Zionist occupation of Palestine, on the ongoing U.S. occupation of Iraq; U.S. interference in the domestic affairs in Haiti, Venezuela and other nations around the world. We have posted thousands of other published news reports and commentary on many other events and subjects from every region of the world. We have also consistently exposed the charade of the electoral process in the U.S. Because words must be joined with action in order to have any power, we have continued to provide information about opportunities for readers to join in the struggle against global corporate imperialism. We believe our only hope lies in our faith in ourselves as a people, willing to self-examine, sacrifice, find courage within, and to act in solidarity. We hope the articles and reflections included in this ezine will further inform and equip our readers for movement toward peace and justice. We all volunteer our time. We have considerable start-up and monthly costs - ongoing. We thank those who have already donated time and money to Axis of Logic. If you have not already done so, please consider contributing financially and volunteering your time and skills to help us: Thanks very much for reading and participating. Please encourage your friends and acquaintances to SUBSCRIBE to this monthly Ezine. If this publication has been sent to you in error and you wish to be taken off our mailing list: UNSUBSCRIBE In solidarity and peace,
If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It's a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. Mother Earth just closed up the drapes on another year and it's time to reflect on what's come before. - Mitchell Burgess

Wallachs, -IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy "First, we need to differentiate between sensing and perceiving. Sensing is the more mechanical aspect, involving the stimulation of the sensory receptors and the sensory nerves. Perceiving is about one's personal relationship to the incoming information. We all have sense organs which are similar, but our perceptions are totally unique. Perception is about how we relate to what we are sensing. Perception is about relationship to ourselves, others, the Earth and the universe. And it contains the interweaving of both sensory and motor components." - Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
