Subject: Lee salisbary's article on monkeys VS God

Dear Axis of logic,

I really take offence over that article. You have no idea about the true power of God. You have no idea what is actually going on and you will never have any idea until it's too late. The New World Order is going to happen whether you like it or not, so what monkey are you going to pray to when they come to take you away?

I have enjoyed axis of logic but I really got insulted by that article. And by the way, I'd dare you to try Orthodox Christianity but I know that would be too much for you.

I don't know if I'm ever going to read Axis of logic again. I'm really upset.

Sincerely, Sherry Barth

Dear Ms. Barth,

Thank you for writing to us about Mr. Salisbury's essay Monkeys are preferable as ancestors over the bible's God anytime!

You wrote that you "really take offence over that article" - an interesting comment. I have learned that when I have been offended by one thing or another, I have a need to understand why I have felt offended. In other words, "feeling offended" has become a tool to help me examine myself. This almost always leads to a discovery of some weakness within me - not in the person or thing that offends me. It's a wonderful tool for self examination, cleansing and personal growth. After I read your email, I returned to Lee Salisbury's essay and read it again. What I found was that it is written with impeccable logic and it reflects his commitment to the truth - no matter where the truth leads or whom it offends. So I am very excited that you have been offended because it tells me that you are closer than ever to deeper truths within yourself that wait only to be discovered by you. Discovery might be painful and perhaps even terrifying - but they will always lead you closer to your true self and to higher ground. There is nothing to fear, nothing to lose and everything to gain.

You also dared me to "try orthodox Christianity". I know that Mr. Salisbury has done just that - more than most. Like myself, he was formerly an evangelical Christian and an ordained minister. We have both lived and breathed orthodox Christianity and we found it to lack the humanity, compassion and truth that so many claim.

Wishing many blessings of self-discovery and personal growth to you!

Respectfully,

Hi, Thank you for responding to my rather rude and kooky e-mail. I appreciate the time you took to respond. You've given me a lot of think about.

Sherry Barth

Dear Ms. Barth,

And I thank you for your kind reply. Not "kooky" or "rude" at all. You just honestly expressed your initial reaction.  I believe we all have a lot of thinking to do.  Please feel free to write anytime.
