![]() Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela The Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela leading to Socialism of the 21st Century is a peaceful, democratic and humanistic process as well as being emancipating with all its virtues and errors. It is remarkable in itself since it bloomed during the effervescence of Neoliberal Globalization. The revolutionary process is conducted by its maximum leader, the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, who has confronted imperialism and its internal and external lackeys head-on, as well as their political, economic, social, cultural and environmental aggressions. Imperialism and its “servants” believe that they are the ultimate owners of our peoples by trying to catalogue us as their “back yard” and have tried to impose on us the macabre Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) which in itself is based upon values inherent in capitalist society. These values are selfishness, individualism and enriching oneself at the cost of other human beings. The FTAA would expose us to the complete opening up of our markets and the surrender of our wealth to their capital and in this way frustrate our desire for liberty, peace and the hope to build a better life. The ALBA (Bolivarian Alternative for America) is waging the great battle against capitalism and with each day that passes the peoples of America are more united. The ALBA is based on socialist values, on solidarity, on the brotherhood of peoples, on the firm conviction that human suffering is not alien to us, that no human being is expendable and on a just and fair society where no human being can be left to fate. The ALBA is advancing like a victorious army in the face of hostile opposition; its multiple actions favor the neediest in society with redeeming benefits in the fields of health care, education, right to identity, housing, culture and access to energy. These actions have definitely stimulated the hope of liberating all peoples, and have encouraged them to continue the struggle with more determination. The Bolivarian revolution belongs to all the peoples of the Great Homeland of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is a vital and alternative way of action and is committed and linked to the historic desire for regional integration. The building of the Great Homeland is based on the systemic thoughts of our Latin American and Caribbean brothers in search of political unity, equality, solidarity, brotherhood, sovereignty and anti-imperialism. It is nothing more than the desire of our peoples in their struggle for freedom, self-determination, justice and the common good. © Copyright 2008 by AxisofLogic.com This material is available for republication as long as reprints include verbatim copy of the article its entirety, respecting its integrity.
