Venezuela to participate in the Latin American Movie Festival in Rome

Caracas, Feb 15 ABN.- Several Venezuelan movies are participating since last Thursday in the Latin American Movie Festival in Rome, which will end next February 18.

Through this festival, the Italy-Latin American Institute of Rome (Lila), celebrates the movie industry of Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba and Guatemala.

The movies to be showed are Maroa, produced by Solveig Hoogesteijn, El Pez que fuma, by Romand Chalbaud, Manuela Sáenz, by Diego Rísquez, Florentino y el Diablo, by Michael New, Una casa con vista al mar, by Alberto Arvelo; Salto al Atlàntico,by María Eugenia Esparragoza, Tocar y Luchar, by Alberto Arvelo and Anselmo, la trampa de la uña, by John Petruzzelli.

Venezuela's participation in the Movie Festival is thanks to the cooperation between the embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Italy and the Italy-Latin American Institute of Rome (Lila), to spread the Venezuelan culture, the progress and initiatives on the movie industry as well.

In the past, people in Rome warmly welcomed some Venezuelan movies during the Venezuela's Focus Festival, carried out on October 5th and 6th 2007, thanks to the cooperation of the Movie House Villa Borghese. Six feature films were showed during the festival.
