The news sponsor by the US government are pointing out with intensity, persistence and clarity, but without proves, that the biggest culprit of illicit drugs distribution is, without a doubt, Venezuela.

Of course, the ones that tell us this are the very same that sold us the Iraq's war with the creative "truth" about weapons of mass destruction.

If you believe that one, I can get you a tower in France at an excellent price. Better yet, you do not even have to travel, just give me the money and I will prepare a deed for you,  in French of course! It's the old trick about repeating a big enough lie, often enough, that eventually the people will believe it. After that, it becomes a fact on the ground.

Just dare to think - even when it's easier not to think. A thinking people is the biggest threat possible to Washington and their media moguls. So according to the latest set of disinformation coming out of the White House is that the illegal drug problem is not the production or demand but now, the distribution of drugs! Even if we accept this line of reasoning, are we to believe that massive quantities of drugs are not flowing through Mexico or Puerto Rico, the oldest U.S. colonies in the hemisphere?

Lets review some public data, unfortunately provided to us by those who sold us the war, but at least confirmed by the US Congress and the budget documents.

With the "Plan Colombia", supposedly designed to combat drugs, the United States militarized Colombia and transformed that country in the biggest recipient of US "aid" in Latin America and fourth in the world after Iraq, Israel and Egypt.  The plan includes $1.3 billion committed by former President Clinton and the US Congress assigned directly to the US budget since the year 2000, plus other unknown resources for military training, US troops and weapons. Since the US military intervention in Colombia is in complicity with the Colombian government, the excuse of WMD is unnecessary for an invasion of  Colombia.  On April 14, 2006 the US antidrug office announced that coca farming in Colombia increased significantly from 2002 to 2005.  All international observers agreed that the Plan Colombia has failed to achieve its objectives, yet, the US Congress continues adding millions of dollars annually to the plan.

RAND, a research center frequently consulted by Washington, recommended that the billions of dollars assigned to Plan Colombia should be invested in prevention and addiction treatment to diminish the demand in the U.S. and thereby the production of drugs in Colombia. In the face of all this, those who continue to believe that Plan Colombia is a "war on drugs" or that it is being effective - should remember that tower in France I have for sale!

Indisputably, Colombia is the biggest producer of cocaine in the World and that the US is it's biggest consumer. The stated mission of "Plan Colombia", a spawn of Langley was that of eradicating the production of coca, rich in a variety of benefits for the Colombian people, but also used in the production of cocaine. The real mission was one of occupying the Colombian State. Now Washington tells us that the problem is Venezuela's distribution of Colombian cocaine. What's next? - "Plan Venezuela" to eradicate distribution? No informed, rational person can possibly believe this nonsense. Anyone who has followed Venezuela's record since the Chavez government was dramatically elected in 1998 and the ongoing reaction of the U.S. government knows what this latest attack is designed to do.

The Chavez Administration has a clean record of combating drug distribution seen most recently (March 9) in its arrest of Colombian drug kingpin, Hermagoras Gonzalez Polanco, for whom the United States was offering a reward of $5 million.  Polanco is linked to the Guajira drug cartel and is also implicated in right-wing, AUC  paramilitaries backed by the Colombian government. This is all confirmed by opposition media (Globovision) and the U.S. State Department. The U.S. State Department also has a "clean record" of an attempted coup in Venezuela, a national manager's lockout to crush the Venezuelan economy and continuing attacks through infiltration and a media disinformation campaign to destroy the Venezuelan government over which they no longer have control.
