| During the launching of Mission Ribas Technic, within the framework of the promotion of the VI Graduation of Integral Bachellors of Mission Ribas, held in Teresa Carreńo Theather, the Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez informed that Venezuela will count on 58 new universities.
The Venezuelan head of State explained that the total figure correspond to 28 universities that will be built. 10 of them are already being built. 29 of them are institute and universities that are being remodeled and will be transformed into polytechnic universities, plus the University of the South. “I really doubt that any country is building such a great number of universities, as well as the University Villages and the Socialist University complexes Alma Mater. Mr. Chávez quoted Simón Bolívar stating that the nation moves towards its greatness with the same speed its education moves. He also said that the Higher Education Minister Adán Chávez already has the study program for the “freeing education.” The Energy and Oil Ministry Rafael Ramírez informed that the leader of the Bolivarian revolution will propose the re-launching of Mission Ribas, incorporating the technical aspect in order to keep on moving towards a fairer, equal and freer socialist society. During the event, President Chávez granted the diploma to bachelors Osleida Marchena, Jorge Granado and César Rumbo, who represent 60,000 graduating students of the country. They thanked the action carried out by the work of the Bolivarian government aimed at incorporating more compatriots to free education system. He also granted a deserved acknowledgment to facilitators and founder members of this important mission. Today there are 30,340 facilitators distributed in the national territory. Mr. Chávez said that facilitators “are setting a good example of what a social conscience is. This conscience is aimed at the building of the new homeland.
