A Venezuelan opposition view of Chávez' meeting
with the Castro brothers in Cuba this week

"The Setup"

The tyrant of Miraflores Palace in Caracas traveled to Havana on Monday for a meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Raúl Castro. They talked about the world food crisis and other terrorist matters. During the conversation both presidents also spoke with late Cuban leader Fidel Castro who was wearing a red, white and blue track suit.

Fidel Castro has not been seen in public since January 16th this year when he appeared with left wing president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva. It has been more than five months since the late leader, who has died at least 127 times according the prestigious international news agencies, has been seen in public

"This can't be Fidel Castro. If you look carefully it's a set up. Just look at the details: his beard is graying and he looks slimmer and in the photo he doesn't blink….they've gone crazy since they are talking between themselves," explained an expert Venezuelan political observer when seeing the images published by Cuban TV where Chávez and Raúl Castro are shown talking enthusiastically with a "presumed dead" 81 year old Fidel Castro.

When the meeting ended, Lieutenant Colonel Chávez spoke to the local media and in his characteristically ironic and mocking way said: "Fidel is there, alive and kicking, thinking, writing and dictating strategic plans which are important for Cuba and our America. Raúl has the reins of power in his hands".
