I applaud Carlos Ruiz comments (below) on Milos Alcalay's attack on President Chavez and the Venezuelan government for kicking the Israeli Ambassador, Shlomo Cohen and his "diplomatic" corps out of the country as the official response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. In an article published on Ven Central, Ruiz stated:
"Milos Alcalay, and others like him stand for diplomatic protocol as demanded by first-world powers. They propose mealy-mouthed statements and reject any kind of strong position, especially taken against a “superior” nation ...
"By taking the most symbolic stand possible, Chavez has done a great deal for Venezuela’s national dignity, and taken the first step towards a growing movement. Without leaders willing to take bold and individual actions that reflect the will of the majority around the world, this ghastly conflict and the oppression which fuels it will never cease."
My thoughts exactly. Alcalay is just a rata and if it were not for Globvision, he would have a zero platform.
Last night Globovision studiously avoided showing any of the bold speeches in the massive anti-Israel protests in Plaza Bolivar in Caracas and concentrated instead on the economic doom facing Venezuela - and of course, blaming this imaginary "doom" on President Chavez.
More and more Globovision is becoming a platform for PJ “nice white middle class little Hitlers”.
In his response to Milos Alcalay's attack on Madura, Ruiz states:
"He also says that Nicolas Maduro, the foreign minister, should moderate his speech “because he is speaking for all Venezuelans”. In other words, because there are people who support the Israeli onslaught as well as people who oppose it, the national government should try as hard as possible to say nothing at all."
In his speech, Foreign Minister Maduro pulled no punches. He stated that Israel's campaign constituted "flagrant violations of International Law" and the use of "state terrorism." I spoke with members of the opposition this morning who were protesting out side El Sambil in La Candelaria. They told me that somehow or other Israel would "pasa la factura" (a retaliation) to President Chavez for his stance.
What does this mean? A Mossad hit team that was proposed by that Zionist bastard Orlando Urdaneta on a Miami TV station in October, 2004? The interviewer, Maria Elvira Salazar, suggested to Urdaneta that the commandos would ideally be Israeli; Urdaneta agreed.
Following a statement in which President Chavez called the attacks on the people of Gaza a Palestinian "holocaust", Venezuela expelled the ambassador of Israel on Tuesday in protest. The statement added, "For the reasons mentioned above, the government of Venezuela has decided to expel the Ambassador of Israel and part of the personnel of the Embassy of Israel."
Most Venezuelans fully back the government's move to expel Israel from our midst. The reason, first and foremost is our compassion for their sisters, brothers and children in Palestine - in other words, in the name of humanity. The second reason is to make it abundantly clear that Zionist infiltration and war-mongering will not be tolerated in this country. The remaining Zionists here can be sure that government intelligence services and the people themselves will be watching and dealing with them legally, according to the constitution if they attempt to retaliate or work in any way to infiltrate and undermine the government or to cause other trouble in Venezuelan society.
Already, the Zionist Simon Rosenthal Center has condemned President Chavez for "anti-semitism" and the World Jewish Congress has called on the governments of Argentina and Brazil to condemn President Chavez. In response, we say that nothing can be more anti-semitic than the full-scale genocide currently being executed on the true semites, the Palestinian people.

APOLOGISTS DENOUNCE REMOVAL OF AMBASSADOR
January 9, 2009 by Carlos Ruiz

Milos Alcalay, and others like him stand for diplomatic protocol as demanded by first-world powers. They propose mealy-mouthed statements and reject any kind of strong position, especially taken against a “superior” nation.
That might be why Chavez’s expulsion of the Israeli ambassador is considered a “grave error” and a “sad day” for Venezuela. He also said “we are the only country that has expelled the Israeli ambassador”. That proves something, doesn’t it?
Israel is not the pariah state it deserves to be, precisely because of Alcalay’s thinking, imitated in halls of power across the globe. Countries fear the repercussions of denouncing Israel’s actions, or taking a strong stand against Israel, for the good reason that it shares the same interests as the Imperial United States of America.
Sure, these may be colonial and genocidal interests, but upsetting Washington is not the first choice of the spineless. They surely can’t be the only ones to speak out! What good would come of it?
Alcalay says Venezuela should show solidarity with Palestinians through “international mechanisms”. Which, judging by the regularity with which Israel concedes to international law or opinion, is precious little solidarity indeed. That kind of diplomatic direction is foolishness at best and an insult to the Palestinian people at worst.
He also says that Nicolas Maduro, the foreign minister, should moderate his speech “because he is speaking for all Venezuelans”. In other words, because there are people who support the Israeli onslaught as well as people who oppose it, the national government should try as hard as possible to say nothing at all.
It does not require a genius to see that Israel is slaughtering innocent civilians, women and children en masse, blocking all aid and weaving a complex set of justifications and distortions to a pliant international media.
By taking the most symbolic stand possible, Chavez has done a great deal for Venezuela’s national dignity, and taken the first step towards a growing movement. Without leaders willing to take bold and individual actions that reflect the will of the majority around the world, this ghastly conflict and the oppression which fuels it will never cease.
