Sign this letter in solidarity with the Palestinian people

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

The cruel assault against the Palestinian population in Gaza, started by Israel on December 28 of last year, has now caused more than 1,000 deaths and thousands of wounded. This is not simply retaliation against Hamas – the winning party of the elections in Palestine – but the latest chapter of a politics of aggression cloaked in Zionism and denounced in its time by Albert Einstein and Hannah Arendt, among many others.

Israel is practicing ethnic cleansing, dishonoring the human conscience and the memory of the Jews exterminated by the Nazis. Contrary to what anti-Semites and, paradoxically, Israeli leaders, think, this has nothing to do with Judaism but with the implacable logic of a colonial state. A state that, for the whole of the 21st century, has pursued the disastrous objective of exterminating those Palestinians enclosed in an immense ghetto that comprises only 15% of their homeland.

The lengthy economic blockade arbitrarily imposed by Israel with the complicity of the United States and the European Union have left the Palestinian population in an unsustainable situation. Like Hitler in the Warsaw Ghetto, Israel is utilizing the weapons of segregation, of embargo, of racial discrimination and of military enclosure.

Israel has always violated international law, the Geneva Conventions and U.N. resolutions thanks to the complicity of the United States, the European Union and Arab countries aligned with the United States such as Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Now they are going further, trying to annihilate all forms of organized society in Palestine.

Israeli leaders have assured that they warn the residents of Gaza about coming bombardments and recommended they evacuate the areas which will be attacked. However, the Gaza Strip is one of the most densely inhabited places in the world and the civilian population has nowhere to go, so they are found on all sides.

In the face of the U.N.'s inaction, it is time for the citizens of the world to raise our voices. We salute the open letter by Jewish intellectuals urging Israeli soldiers to disobey the orders of their leaders  and we join the Jewish International Anti-Zionist Networkto demand "the dismantling of apartheid, the return of Palestinian refugees and the end of Israeli colonization in historic Palestine."

Without respect for the dignity and integrity of the Palestinian people there can be no peace in the region or in Israel. We will not permit more massacres. We will act before the Zionist state and its allies set the world on fire with a new world war.

We invite all to manifest their repudiation in a determined and peaceful manner in marches and rallies and to act in solidarity – politically, humanitarianly, and economically – with Palestine.
