Gil Scott-Heron died yesterday, May 27, 2011. "Blqlite", who assembled this video, wrote of Scott-Heron, "Gil, you leave us now to join the sacred circle. I know you are in the divine poets house and the words that matter have been spoken to you - for speaking the words that matter in this human experience. You have returned to your spiritual being."

Gilbert "Gil" Scott-Heron (April 1, 1949 – May 27, 2011) was an American poet, musician, and author known primarily for his work as a spoken wordperformer in the 1970s and 80s, and for his collaborative soul works with musician Brian Jackson. His collaborative efforts with Jackson featured a musical fusion of jazz, blues and soul music, as well as lyrical content concerning social and political issues of the time, delivered in both rapping and melismatic vocal styles by Scott-Heron. The music of these albums, most notably Pieces of a Man and Winter in America in the early 1970s, influenced and helped engender later African-American music genres such as hip hop and neo soul. Scott-Heron's recording work is often associated with black militant activism and has received much critical acclaim for one of his most well-known compositions The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. His poetic style has been influential upon every generation of hip hop since his popularity began.[3] In addition to being widely considered an influence in today's music, Scott-Heron remained active until his death, and in 2010 released his first new album in 16 years, entitled I'm New Here. Note: One viewer of this video on You Tube commented:

"Oh please, did the 9/11 reference really had to be in this video?"

Blqlite brilliantly replied:

"I used the image of the 9/11 REPORT (COVER) because "IF THEY REALLY KNEW THE TRUTH WHY WOULD THEY TELL YOU?" I could have used the WARREN REPORT with its disguised lies about the KENNEDY KILLING. But I appreciate your comment. It proves how many in society have been TRAINED to react to images more than the spoken or written word and miss the point of truth. In the trance of 9/11 we went to war with a people in a country that had no TRUE hand in it and no WMD's. Wake up."
