The Biggest one day loss to American soldiers in Afghanistan as dozens of elite forces have been killed when their helicopter was shot down by the Taliban.

2011 has seen an increase in civilian deaths in Afghanistan as well as US-led troops. If the U-S has not been able to bring security to Afghanistan in almost a decade of being there, then what is the purpose of Washington remaining there?

As more body bags return to the States, an increased number of Americans are demanding an end to the war. The new US Secretary of Defense's responded to the fatal day for his soldiers by saying the United States will stay the course in Afghanistan.
