At the first preliminary declaration of results at around 11.00pm president of the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE) Roberto Reyes read out results that give the FSLN a win averaging over 60% across the board in all the ballots on which Nicaraguans voted today, November 6th.

The combined opposition parties averaged around 40% of the vote.

This result is a historic change in Nicaragua's political life.

Complete results on all the ballots should be available at around noon tomorrow Monday November 7th.
