Editor's Note: Mazin Qumsiyeh, PhD, a regular contributor to Axis of Logic sent us the shocking film on racism against African immigrants in Israel. The video is followed by Mazin's latest report on a strange infertilty that has appeared among Palestinian men and an event hosted by the EU Parliament in Brussels, current attacks on Palestinians, AIPAC's Washington Institute for Near East Studies and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) which Mazin calls the "Arab Defamation League." First, The video the New York Times didn't want you to see - on racism in Israel.  At the end of this article, Max Blumenthal* explains how the NYT commissioned the 11 minute video but after seeing it, refused to publish it.

Mazin Qumsiyeh: I will be attending this event cosponsored by Al-Babtain and hosted at the EU Parliament in Brussels 11 and 12 November on dialogue between civilizations.

Most recent research results from our clinical laboratory at Bethlehem University: Chromosome abnormalities are noted in 25% of male Palestinians with infertility and are noted in 38% of those who have absent sperm.

Amira Hass in Haaretz:

“To Israel’s satisfaction, the PLO chairman’s security apparatus is carrying out waves of arrests in Jenin and Hebron, but is helpless against settler attacks and the Civil Administration. Being identified as subcontractors of the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet security service diminishes their ability to curb the unrest simmering in the refugee camps and villages. True, since there’s no chance of a revolution of consciousness or diplomacy in Israel and since the required fundamental change in the Palestinian leadership is not on the horizon, Palestinian adults and the middle class in general prefer the status quo. But when unrest erupts again – against poverty, weakness and leadership infighting, the expulsions by the Civil Administration, the IDF raids and arrests, and the Shin Bet harassment – the Palestinian forces will be forced to choose between loyalty to security cooperation and its American sponsor and their Palestinian identity. However they choose, we Israelis will continue to be periodically reminded that our ongoing dictatorship over the Palestinians is not normal and not viable.”

Marin Indyk is the chief US envoy to the surrender negotiations being engaged in by Mr. Saeb Erekat. Indyk was an Australian employee of the Israel lobby and worked for years at AIPAC’s offshoot, the Washington Institute for Near East Studies.  On the ground, Israel is announcing more settlement building while the Palestinian authority “security services” engage in repressing resistance. The PA also prevented submission of Battir to UNESCO as a world heritage site.  But, despite all, more and more people around the world show solidarity and many more Palestinians decide that they will not be victims or collaborators any more but agents of change.

The Anti-Defamation League (I call it Arab defamation league because it is an Israel-apologist group supporting racism and apartheid and has targeted peace and justice activists) released a list of the most "influential and active anti-Israel groups" in the U.S.A.

The top 10 groups they do not like are alphabetically (we list them so that you can support them by becoming a member, donations etc):

  • ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism)
  • American Muslims for Palestine
  • CODEPINK Friends of Sabeel-North America
  • If Americans Knew/Council for the National Interest Jewish Voice for Peace
  • Muslim Public Affairs Council Neturei Karta Students for Justice in Palestine
  • U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation

*Oct 25, 2013, Video Nation -  Max Blumenthal explains how The New York Times commissioned the 11-minute video, but after the paper's editors saw it, refused to publish it:

"I was asked to submit something by The New York Times op docs, a new section on the website that published short video documentaries. I am known for short video documentaries about the right wing in the US, and extremism in Israel. They solicited a video from me, and when I didn't produce it in time, they called me for it, saying they wanted it. So I sent them a video I produced with my colleague, David Sheen, an Israeli journalist who is covering the situation of non-Jewish Africans in Israel more extensively than any journalist in the world. We put together some shocking footage of pogroms against African communities in Tel Aviv, and interviews with human rights activists. I thought it was a well-done documentary about a situation very few Americans were familiar with. We included analysis. We tailored it to their style, and of course it was rejected without an explanation after being solicited. I sent it to some other major websites and they have not even responded to me, when they had often solicited articles from me in the past." ~ Max

Max Blumenthal, author of the bestselling and widely promoted 2009 book Republican Gomorrah, also spoke about the difficulty he has had getting any mainstream media attention for his new book Goliath: Life and Loathing in Greater Israel. Just like this video, Blumenthal's new book offers an unflinching look at the racist reality of Israel that America's establishment media simply does not have the guts to confront.
