Known as The Muse of Parker Street, activist Malvina Reynolds left an indelible mark. Reynolds wrote the song in 1962 (at the age of 61), about the fears of nuclear fallout.

In addition to this piece, she wrote a huge array of songs that were recorded by many well-known performers, such as: Pete Seeger ('Little Boxes', and 'Little Red Hen'), the Searchers ('What have they done to the rain?'), Harry Belafonte ('Turn Around'), the Seekers ('Morningtown Ride').
