A life in the valley

A belly full of fire

A mouth full of bile

A heart full of hate

A man of the cloth

Fruit of his loins

But only a girl

Born to be chattle

Born to be cattle

A mind full of wonder

A mind full of love

A mind full of compassion

A mind of her own

A simple word, No

Cast aside by them all

Cast out of prison

And into bright light

That simple word, No

To a life that said, Yes

A life that was full

A life that was lived

Thousands of orphans

Lived in her house

All to be saved

From moose to mouse

A life filled with passion

And care for the living

A life full of privilege

Arising from giving

The wind has died down

But the heart still beats strong

The body is frail

But not so the mind, not so the spirit

A life lived right and a life lived long

Still above ground but soon to pass on

Many lives altered

Some human, some not

She cared for them all

Without selfish thought

An inspiration to many

An inspiration to me

A privilege to be known as her friend
