TEHRAN (FNA)- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the Syrian government has officially invited international experts to investigate the alleged chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun, speaking in Moscow. “The Syrian government has officially invited the experts by sending the relevant invitation to the organisation in The Hague,” Lavrov stated, Al Masdar reported. He insisted that Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) investigators should as well probe the US-bombed Shayrat Airbase, “where, according to our colleagues’ claims, shells had been equipped with chemical weapons ” The Russian top diplomat made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed al-Thani in Moscow.
