Starts small, like
someone late for work
because of traffic
(a disagreement, can't stand his/her quirks).
"The coffee's good"
to be polite
amid the monday banter
(too much milk, the lips are tight).

Equipment cracked
but it'll last
enough to mass produce
(it'll be someone else's shift when that thing goes past).

The story's probably correct
but who would know,
the headline will distract
(never did get a clear "yes" or "no").

There was no time
to check that out,
had to destroy
(though there were doubts).

"Have a nice night" to all...
in the rearview mirror with heavy sighs,
the smile is cracked, eyes don't shine
(just another day at the factory of lies).
