Meanwhile, consumerist capitalism is tearing us apart – not only from each other but from ourselves. Depression and mental health issues are on the rise and we're told to buy, buy, buy. Yet in the din of dollar signs and bottom lines, there are community efforts to connect on deeper levels – to highlight the sacred, the profound and to work together to create, build and resist.
