Another grope, another shot,
they stole the land
then rented the lot,
they look human
but act robot.

Either or, good bad,
buy one get one free,
these choices an endless fad,
looks enticing
but the endgame, cash, a wad.

Make a stand, lend a hand,
talk with rivers,
return your consciousness to the land,
look . . .  invisible wind erasing
any lines in the sand . . .

Mankh (Walter E. Harris III) is an essayist and resident poet at Axis of Logic. In addition to his work as a writer, he is a small press publisher and Turtle Islander. See his new book of nonfiction with a poetic touch, “photo albums of the heart-mind”.
