Tuesday night, May 22, on the program La Hojilla (The Razorblade) broadcast on Venezuelan State TV (VTV), the presenter of the program, Mario Silva, played an audio rerecording of an opposition supporter insulting his mother by telephone for having voted in favor of now President re-elect Nicolás Maduro.

The individual concerned used rude, disrespectful language in an aggressive tone. He even “accused” his mother of registering herself at one of the Puntos Rojos (Red Points) of the Chavistas before going to vote. Apparently it was the neighbors of the mother who reported what she had done.

This person is a typical example of the extremist attitude of opposition supporters in their rage and hate against anything that is “chavista” and is an attitude that has been sown and fostered by a twenty year media campaign against Chavismo in Venezuela. This is the sad result where people will insult their own mother for exercising her right to vote for whatever candidate she sees fit in a presidential election.

On other occasions, Chavistas have been doused in gasoline and burned to death in the street because they “looked like Chavistas”. People have been attacked and beaten in malls because they were “suspected” of being Chavista – normally by a group of enraged opposition psychos because the person said something that might have been construed as supporting the government.

The private media has a lot to answer for after inflicting so much psychological damage on millions of people who are now sick and do not realize the crimes they are committing, nor why they are so hateful and resentful of other Venezuelans that hold different political opinions.

According to the guest and lawyer on the program, María Alejandra Díaz, the man, as well as harassing his own mother, was committing the following crimes: violence against women; financial violence; and discrimination for political reasons. "He who does not want his mother doesn't want anyone," said Díaz on this case.

Here is the video of the last part of the program La Hojilla with the phone recording. It is in Spanish but there is an Autotranslate tool that can be activated in English on YouTube so that readers can fully understand the comments of Mario Silva and María Alejandra Díaz.
