Possibly for the first time in his life, the psychopath John Bolton has told the truth about the recent aggression by the Trump administration against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

This video interview from 29 January tells the story:

So ... it's not about Maduro at all. It's about the oil reserves that are almost twice the size of those of Saudi Arabia right on the doorstep of the US.

This fact, which has always been ignored or denied, is now out in the open and has been published hundreds of times on Axis of Logic.

This is predatory colonialism at its worst, with Bolton being barefaced about it with no qualms as if he does not give a damn about what other countries think or the niceties of international law.

However, there is one fact that Bolton does not mention that must be at the back of his mind and is even known to Southcom and their Colombian and Brazilian military lackeys - any aggression against Venezuela will be met with resistance by the 264,000 army operatives armed with the latest weapons from Russia and China.

There are currently 1.6 million trained militias who will also fight and more being recruited and trained by the day.

The US may have cut off oil revenues, but no more oil will be delivered to the US unless it is paid for in advance and to the accounts specified by PDVSA. We estimate that this payment will be in Chinese yuans or Russian rubles. No payment - no oil.

This may hit Venezuela in the short term but obviously this scenario has been planned for and for many years. PDVSA will have to redirect supplies to other countries - probably India and China - but more information is needed to verify this.

The three CITGO refineries in the US have an approximate refining capacity of 600,000 barrels/day and provide most of the gasoline for the US East coast via its network of 8,000+ gas stations.

The US will not just be able to send any type of crude oil to these refineries to maintain gasoline production. Venezuelan crude oil is very heavy, and so the CITGO refineries are tooled to crack this type of crude. Other crudes cannot be cracked - hence less gasoline for the East Coast.

And what about heating oil and jet fuel in this cold vortex hitting the US Midwest? Prices of heating oil could skyrocket.

Venezuela will fight the apparent confiscation of CITGO in the US and international courts - there is no other option.

But oil reserves on Venezuelan territory are more complex. Currently, about 41% of Venezuelan oil exports go to the US but this will now change.

We estimate that Venezuela exports about 200,000 barrels/day to the US which is about US$10 million in revenue per day. This is not insurmountable.

Maduro has to hold his nerve; the military and militias have to stay alert, and diplomatic efforts must continue against this gangsterism of Bolton and Trump, after defeats in the OAS and the UN Security Council. They are operating far outside the parameters of international law.

Finally, despite Trump Tweeting that today there would be "massive protests" by the opposition, very few people turned out - despite international corporate media trying to show huge concentrations. Just more lies.
