so long, empire

the light of empire
seduces,
slick buzz
faux glow,
moths to a fabricated flame
instead of Light nurturing,
Sun sparkling Water,
Light steady slow
growing the fruit

the light of empire
can get you to think
it’s The Light
because some longing gets satisfied
but if you’re not longing
you won’t
go for the seducing

Some get seduced for so long
they exist in empire’s labyrinth
forgetting they entered the labyrinth,
forgetting they come from
some place else,
are destined to go there again

what’s outside the labyrinth is
          ― The Light ―
and what’s outside the labyrinth
            is within
