How Logo Can You Go?

“Label” is a stagnant thing
commodifying consciousness,
the branding
breeding dumbed-down
instead of hand-me-downs.

Ro-ro-ro-rolex your time
gently down the stream,
obliviously obliviously obliviously obliviously
life is not a twisted extractive resources dream.

Bounty... paper towel
Fruit of the Loom... underwear
Gay man...
Gore Vidal wrote:
“Actually, there is no such thing as a homosexual person,
any more than there is such a thing as a heterosexual person.
The words are adjectives describing sexual acts, not people.
The sexual acts are entirely natural;
if they were not, no one would perform them.”*

But don’t throw the “baby” out with the “bubble bath water”
labels can be helpful
– “basil” ... “medicine” ... “poison” –
yet “Label” is a stagnant thing
“basil grown from soil, sun and so on and onto the tongue
and so on...”

Some brands trustworthy
yet beyond the labels
each of us with a Way of Living,
a LifeStyle
independent of the accouterments
and of being labeled.
