Canada
Ecuador could teach Canadians a thing or two

Canadians passively listen to neoliberal Liberal Party leader, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, then the neoliberal Conservative Party leader, Andrew Scheer, natter on about nothing, determined to avoid any real discussion particularly, about economic and foreign policy.

The Canadian electorate's complete indifference to the mindless sounds coming out of both Trudeau and Scheer is a close second to falling asleep at the wheel. Sleeping through the election campaign, Canadians will awaken slightly to cast their votes on October 21st, election day, then with eyes closing once again, they will return to their reality-avoiding sleep.

Compare that to what is happening in Ecuador.

The Ecuadorian people are protesting against their President, Lenin Moreno, who has accepted a major IMF loan, enforced extensive austerity measures, and returned Ecuador to neoliberal economics and, specifically, has returned Ecuador into the open armed embrace of the U.S. Having been bought and paid for, Moreno in return has given the U.S. control of the Ecuadorian government and has opened the gates of hell to the U.S. neoliberal oligarchs to once again plunder Ecuador's wealth.

Also, as part of the thank you to the U.S. for making him an overnight millionaire, Moreno also agreed to allowing the British police to enter, arrest, and literally drag out from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London
the sole occupant, Julian Assange. This had been Julian's home for seven years, courtesy of the asylum given to him by Ecuador's previous President, Rafael Correa. Now, sitting in prison, he awaits being extradited to the U.S. Moreno's gratitude knows no bounds.

It is the protest of the Ecuadorian people, however, that I took notice of. They completely understand the neoliberal scam their President is attempting to impose on them. When asked why they are protesting, Ecuadorian people have said, 'we are against the neoliberal control of our government and our sovereignty, against the U.S. and Western plundering of our wealth, and against putting the country into debt by accepting IMF loans.'

Like their Venezuelan brothers and sisters, Ecuadorians are very politically and economically sophisticated. They state that neoliberalism and imperialism is at the core of their president's corruption. They understand that neoliberalism and imperialism is a tyranny under which they are oppressed. They go far beyond knowing that their President has accepted millions of dollars in bribes from the U.S. and understand that it is the corrupt neoliberal/imperial system that Moreno supports that makes all of the corruption - political or otherwise possible in Ecuador.

It is incredible to listen to the Ecuadorian people articulate why and how through neoliberalism their Judas President has betrayed them and their countries sovereignty. These are people who I greatly admire. They are politically and economically knowledgeable warriors, not afraid to fight to take their country back.

Meanwhile, back in Canada, if I say to another Canadian that the Liberal and conservative/reform leaders support implementing neoliberal/imperial policies on behalf of the Global Corporate and Military elite - and in fact it is these neocon elite's who define Canadian political, economic and foreign policy - what I usually get back is a blank stare!

While our government is destroying the political infrastructure that supports Canada's sovereignty along with stealing Canada's wealth and giving it away or selling it to the various domestic and global corporate elites to control, I feel like I'm watching the story of a Canadian family. They are at home together, in the living room watching television, while criminals are in the back of the house, having shot the family dog - so he won't bark - then proceeding to remove the family's accumulated valuable treasures, including cherished heirlooms, and taking them out the back door. All while the family is at home.

Think about it. Canadians are electing and paying for a government to literally steal their country and turn the control of its wealth over to a handful of corporate elites. It doesn't stop there though. In order to succeed at this theft, the government needs to dismantle or corrupt Canada's judicial system, its infrastructure municipally, provincially,  federally and internationally because, after all, what the government is engaging in by stealing your country is a CRIME.

Changing the laws either by elimination of the old laws that would acknowledge the theft of your country by your government as a crime, where your government would be charged and arrested, you can bet is already being done. But your government can also simply create new laws that support their Crimes, which you can bet is also being done. So by the time the Canadian people get around to figuring out that their government is nothing but a criminal cabal and part of a larger global criminal cabal, when they turn to their judicial system to charge their government with their many crimes, they may very well discover that their constitutional judicial system is in tatters and what is left is equivalent to the judicial system of a Banana Republic!

Our government is leaving no stone unturned to turn your country over to the unelected domestic and Global Corporate/Imperial elite!

Yes, Canadians are falling asleep at the wheel about their own corrupt government's treason. Even if they survive a crash, the insurance they thought they had will be gone, along with their once democratic, beautiful country. The next time you see Justin Trudeau sputtering through his lies, remember he will go down in history as the dumbest Prime Minister Canada has ever had, maybe even among the dumbest world leaders, second only to Trump and Bush jr.

Ask yourself how the h*ll did we allow this intellectually vacant, ethically barren man-child to further destroy the independent control of our wealth and sovereignty by placing our country further under the potential rule of the Global Corporate Imperial Elite. Canadians will pay a price for allowing Justin Trudeau to remain in office as Canada's Prime Minister. It is his stupidity, coupled with being a dogmatic obedient puppet, always waiting to be told what to say or do, that Canadians will pay the highest price for and that price may involve Canadians losing their very freedom.
