The month of June brought a lot more than its heat to the world. The EU, Lebanon and Iran were to hold their elections and Netanyahu was waiting to catch the moment of announcing his Hawkish policy for the world.
The EU electorate allowed the right-wing parties (Geert Wilders, Nick Griffin, et. al.) to have a larger say in the affairs of the EU, their electoral success is a wake-up call for all those who were leaning towards implementing a leftist agenda in the EU. The shrinking Economy of the zone, the high-levels of unemployment and successes of the extreme right have all but added to the woes of Non-European immigrants especially the Muslim community and to quote the title of a leading British Muslim academic, "The Muslim Holocaust in Europe".

Add to the curry, the electoral success of Ahmedinejad and the Policy speech of Netanyahu, it seems that Israel will gain a new partner which is the EU. Cracks are emerging within the American establishment as to finding a right course for the Israel-Palestine issue with having Obama’s speech in Cairo on one hand and Joe Biden’s comments on “Meet the Press” on the other; former US President Jimmy Carter predicting a collision between US and Israeli interests; it would mean that an Alliance between Zionism and a Rightist EU (while EU Parliament has limited powers, nevertheless, a tug of war is to emerge between the Parliament, Commission and Council should the main-stream parties don’t portray themselves as more Right than the Right themselves in order to avoid a dwindling electorate for upcoming National and European Elections for the long-run) will replace the US-Israeli model.

The Conservative bloc in EU, the far-right in Israel, Pro-Western or March 16 in Lebanon v Ahmedinejad and/or Khamnaei, Hezbollah and Hamas; sounds like a bloody show-down. As it has been for the last century, the arena will be the Middle East or should I say: Greater Middle East. The role of US reminds one of the last days of the British Empire which began with the problem of Tribal areas, as they are known as FATA and NWFP areas of Pakistan, today. With its economy in tatters, rising unemployment, black-mailing tactics by the Free Market elite (outsourcing operations should Taxes are increased for the rich); the US is on a Consolidation mode, trying to save face via an exit strategy from Iraq and Afghanistan; ensuring that threats to Israel are minimized if not neutralized.

Having Gen. Stanley McChrystal, former head of JSOC, assisting Gen. Petreus in Afghanistan is to de-stabilize (through Clandestine operations) Pakistan and to eliminate its Nuclear arsenal which has been like a Boogey-Man for Israeli leaders (David Ben Gurion highlighted Pakistan a threat prior to it becoming a Nuclear power simply because of the fact that Pakistan has an ideological base as does Israel except that it’s a total opposite to it). It is Islam v West (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) and we’re in for long haul. Border lines will be changed (please refer to the report: The Revenge of Geography, FP May-June ‘09), a lot more blood will be spilled, and extremists like Taliban and Al Qaeda will help the West in making their case for raging war against Islam & its followers under the pre-text of terrorism.

It would have a pendulum effect for Muslim citizens across continents. Feeble countries with no political muscle will join the bandwagon for their economic and political interests all under the slogan of “Coalition of the willing”. We were naïve to believe that Obama would bring “Change”; how can he under the complex model of American democracy? Where ethics do no more, where people accuse their political counterparts of committing torture while at the same time, know when the acts were committed but remained tight lipped (Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the house). Uncle Sam is tired, has a lot of problems on his plate.

Israelis are feeling the pressure, the AIPAC does not enjoy respect for its cheap tactics and influence which it used to enjoy in the US. I will not be surprised to see the EU replacing the US as the dominant power in the world and supporting Israel just like the US used to.  It is ironic to see that nations who pride themselves for their Secular, Liberal values would be so inclined to serve Israel simply because of a superstition that whoever persecuted the Jewry ended up in the ashes of history especially people like Hitler, Mussolini et al. A continent which came into existence based on belief in Kant’s refusal to accept external (i.e. Divine) influences for the guidance of humanity; would be sucking up to Zionist lobbies in order to remain potent in the global arena.

One can’t blame them; the last nail on British Empire’s coffin was struck when Israeli terrorists (Manachem Begin & Co.) blew up King David hotel and killed the British representative to Palestine. We all know how Field Marshall Allenby entered the Middle East with pomp and valor and even got the chance to kick Saladin’s grave; but it was the terror strikes of Zionists that forced Britain to leave Palestine with its tail between its legs and leave it to the United Nations to deal with it. Then came WW-2 and if it weren’t for the Americans, Britain and France would have been “obliterated” by the Nazi power-house. And because of the atrocities committed by Nazi’s and their likeminded associates; there is sense of moral guilt existing within EU and would easily allow for Israeli hegemony on EU’s foreign policy.

France, with its Neo-Con President, has taken the lead once again for directing the course of EU through its influence. While US would like to be closer to the Muslim world, Franco-German-Dutch axis is doing otherwise and steering the EU away from the “Orient”. It all sounds too Roman, doesn’t it?

A lot of analysts are calling it too early for a collision between Israeli and US interests; but fact of the matter is that rumors are emerging that Dennis Ross, Pres. Obama’s special envoy to Iran, is being transferred from the State Department because of Iranians refusal to engage with him due to his closeness to Israel as well as his likeness for a military strike against it. If this is true then such activity on the part of the US has not been seen since Eisenhower and surely it will not bode well with Israeli Special interest groups in the US. After all, it was the Suez war which saw Anglo-French-Israel axis being told off by President Eisenhower. It might be Lebanon or Greater Syria this time instead of the Suez which will bring back Europeans and Israel on the same platform. If Western Civilization is to succeed and prosper for centuries to come, then Israel must be protected in order to contain Islamic resurgence and as I say, whoever controls Jerusalem, rules the world.
