Libya: Nato missile attacks kill youngest son and 3 grandchildren of Libyan Leader, Muammar Qadaffi

Muammar Qadaffi's daughter, Aisha, spoke to the Libyan people in April about past and present US-European attacks on Libya and her family.

Aisha Qadaffi, daughter of Libya's beloved leader Muammar Qadaffi, spoke to all Libyans when she told a large cheering crowd Bab Al-Aziziyah family compound in Tripoli in April. She said that the US-European demand that her father resign was an insult to all Libyans. Ms. Qadaffi stated:

"In 1911 Italy killed my grandfather in an air strike and now they are trying to kill my father. God damn their hands ... They rained down on us their missiles and bombs, they tried to kill me and they killed dozens of children in Libya ... Now a quarter of a century later the same missiles and bombs are raining down on the heads of my and your children ... Talk about Gaddafi stepping down is an insult to all Libyans because Gaddafi is not in Libya, but in the hearts of all Libyans ... Who are the civilians you are protecting? Are they the people who have automatic weapons and hand grenades? Are they the innocent civilians you are trying to protect? ... Leave our skies, take away your aircraft and missiles."

Reuters shamelessly punctuated Aisha's heroic speech by digging up and quoting a 22 year old criminal who participated in the US-Euro backed attack on Libyan police, military and government facilities in an attempt to overthrow the legitimate government of Libya:

"A rebel supporter in the western city of Misrata, which is besieged by government troops and scene of daily clashes, dismissed her speech as a sign of despair. 'Gaddafi ruled Libya with an iron fist for 41 years and killed anyone who tried to oppose him,' Marwan, 22, said. 'What she said is a sign of the despair of the Gaddafi family and his inner circle. They know their days are numbered,' he told Reuters by phone from the coastal city."

We begin our response to the killing of Col. Qadaffi's son and grandchildren with an expression of sympathy to him, his family and all Libyans.

Mourning:
The depravity of the NATO Mafia and their heartless monsters in Tel Aviv, Washington, London and Paris is ineffable and unbounded. In their multiple attempts to assassinate Moummar Qadaffi with cowardly attacks from the air, this time they came close - even closer than killing the beloved Libyan leader himself. Col. Qadaffi is a father figure to Libyans and after killing many of his Libyan children from Benghazi to Tripoli, they have now murdered his youngest son and 3 of his grandchildren. Col. Qadaffi has the heart of a father and we mourn his loss with him today.

Disinformation: Some of the dis/misinformation is subtle and some of it amounts to direct lies. In this LAT report, the killers and their media use the deaths of their victims to advance their bloody mission. The Los Angeles Times and their media whores, Patrick J. McDonnell and David S. Cloud, attempt to reinforce the assassins' denial that they have targeted the Libyan leader for execution and they attempt to create doubt that Qadaffi's son and grandchildren were killed at all. They also reinforce other corporate media deceptions like those we identified in a BBC publication on April 20.

They attempt to raise questions about reports of the killings by repeated attributions to "Libyan state television" and "government spokesmen" as though the government statements are in doubt and cannot be corroborated. They undermine independent corroboration by referring to "conflicting versions as to the exact location of the strike," while admitting that, "journalists and others were seen walking through the rubble and, at one point handling what appeared to be a missile half-covered in dust and debris."

They describe the mercenaries hired by the west as "rebels fighting to end four decades of Kadafi rule" and give the impression that with NATO's help, the Libyan people are fighting for democracy and winning a civil war against their own government:

"Libyan rebels ... have seized large chunks of Libyan territory on several fronts, including much of the nation's eastern coastal zone. Kadafi retains control of much of western Libya, including Tripoli."

They raise questions about the truth of these NATO killings and questions about NATO's attempts to assassinate Qadaffi:

"A NATO airstrike that the Libyan government says narrowly missed Moammar Kadafi but killed one of his sons and three grandchildren has raised anew the specter of whether the Western alliance is trying to assassinate the Libyan leader."

"There also appeared to be conflicting versions as to the exact location of the strike."

The Los Angeles Times flatly re-states the corporate media lie that the war is being carried out to protect innocent civilians.

"The North Atlantic Treaty Organization's mission is to protect civilians that have come under assault during the fighting."

If the LAT can state the purpose of NATO's mission with such confidence, they can also report these NATO killings with equal confidence when they receive detailed reports from the Libyan government with the international press on the ground, inspecting the site of the attack. What more do they want - photos of the dead son and children? If you were father and grandfather, would you lift yourself from your devastation on the day of the attack and give photos of your slain children to the enemy?

The LAT states as fact that the 'rebels' have been winning the war despite the success of the government forces from Tripoli to Benghazi and Brega in the east. (See Libya and Obama’s Defense of the ‘Rebel Uprising’ and scroll to the photo essay below the article)

"NATO airstrikes have been aiding Libyan rebels who have seized large chunks of Libyan territory on several fronts, including much of the nation's eastern coastal zone. Kadafi retains control of much of western Libya, including Tripoli." For over a decade, the same corporate media has been telling us that the same invaders and occupiers have been winning the wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq - just as they did while they were losing the Vietnam war, for those old enough to remember. The purpose of this propaganda is transparent: People tend to support (and prolong) wars when their country appears to be winning, regardless of the morality or legality of those wars.

Defending the killers: Meanwhile, the corporate media places great emphasis on 6 claims by NATO propagandists:

  • "NATO has said its airstrikes focus on command-and-control centers that the Tripoli government uses in its attempt to suppress rebels fighting to end four decades of Kadafi rule.

  • "Obama administration officials signaled they would be stepping up attacks on facilities known to be used by Kadafi and members of his inner circle.

  • "NATO officials firmly denied that they were trying to hit Kadafi specifically in the attack

  • "The Canadian commander of the NATO operation in Libya said the alliance had attacked "a known command-and-control building" in Libya.

  • "NATO 'plans and conducts its strikes with great deliberation to minimize the risk to innocent people,' Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard said.

  • "A senior NATO officer flatly denied that the strike was an attempt to kill Kadafi or members of his family. 'We have never targeted individuals. It's not in our mandate,' he said. 'We hit a building known to be a command-and-control facility involved in coordinating attacks on civilians'."

The victims: Qadaffi's son and grandchildren are now added to the list of the many Libyans and sub-Saharan Africans killed by the US-European invasion. But regarding this corporate media report: That a father would create a false story about the deaths of his own son and grandchildren for any reason is unbelievable by anyone with a conscience. Col. Qadaffi's youngest son, a student in Germany had a name, Seif al Arab Kadafi and his grandchildren had names. Does the LAT think they will reappear in the future? Or when their deaths are confirmed, perhaps the capitalist media will claim that their father and grandfather killed them himself to create sympathy.

The fools: The psychopaths who engineer and execute this war are fools. They are fools to think that by raw, brute force they can subdue and destroy the human spirit. They are fools to think they will be able to kill any and all in the world who raise the spector of threat against their evil designs. They are fools to believe that we will believe the lies put out by their 'sophisticated' media.

The outrage: The deeds of empire only serve to galvanize the bitterness and hatred against them, not only among Libyans but also among all Arab peoples and all people who love life ... who love family ... and children ... the world over. The slaughters of innocents are not acts of confident men in control of their empire. The attacks and killings in Libya are acts of men who see power and control slipping from their hands in the awakening and rising up of the people in Africa and the Middle East.

Viva Qadaffi!

NATO strike kills Kadafi son, Libyan official says

Killed were Seif al Arab Kadafi, 29, and three of Moammar Kadafi's grandchildren, a government spokesman says. He also says the Libyan leader and his wife were in the residence at the time but survived.

Reporting from Benghazi, Libya, and Washington— A NATO airstrike that the Libyan government says narrowly missed Moammar Kadafi but killed one of his sons and three grandchildren has raised anew the specter of whether the Western alliance is trying to assassinate the Libyan leader.

NATO has said its airstrikes focus on command-and-control centers that the Tripoli government uses in its attempt to suppress rebels fighting to end four decades of Kadafi rule. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization's mission is to protect civilians that have come under assault during the fighting.

Saturday's strike in the Libyan capital occurred only days after NATO and Obama administration officials signaled they would be stepping up attacks on facilities known to be used by Kadafi and members of his inner circle to coordinate their attacks. It also comes shortly after the United States began flying armed Predator drones over Libya.

NATO officials firmly denied that they were trying to hit Kadafi specifically in the attack, which Libyan government spokesman Moussa Ibrahim said killed Kadafi's sixth son, Seif al Arab Kadafi, and three grandchildren.

Kadafi and his wife were in the residence at the time of the strike but both survived the bombing, Ibrahim said on state television.

"The leader himself is in good health," Ibrahim said. "He was not harmed. The wife is also in good health."

The dead son identified by Ibrahim was among the least known of Kadafi's eight children — seven sons and a daughter. He did not maintain the high profile of some of Kadafi's other offspring, especially his elder brothers Saadi and Seif Islam. He was described on state television as a student in Germany.

"Western-nation crusader aggression against the Libyan nation continued and proved again that it has no moral foundation, no legal foundation and no political foundation," Ibrahim told his television audience. "The leader with his wife was there in the house, with other friends and relatives."

In a statement, the Canadian commander of the NATO operation in Libya said the alliance had attacked "a known command-and-control building" in Libya.

NATO "plans and conducts its strikes with great deliberation to minimize the risk to innocent people," Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard said.

A senior NATO officer flatly denied that the strike was an attempt to kill Kadafi or members of his family.

"We have never targeted individuals. It's not in our mandate," he said. "We hit a building known to be a command-and-control facility involved in coordinating attacks on civilians."

There also appeared to be conflicting versions as to the exact location of the strike.

NATO officials said a compound in an area of Tripoli called Bab Azizia, which has been bombed previously, was the target. Libyan officials, meanwhile, took journalists to a destroyed house in a different, wealthy residential area of Tripoli, Reuters news agency reported. At least three missiles hit that house.

State television showed scenes of heavy damage to a structure. Webs of reinforcing metal were seen hanging inside the damaged building, poking through chunks of concrete.

Journalists and others were seen walking through the rubble and, at one point, handling what appeared to be a missile half-covered in dust and debris.

NATO airstrikes have been aiding Libyan rebels who have seized large chunks of Libyan territory on several fronts, including much of the nation's eastern coastal zone. Kadafi retains control of much of western Libya, including Tripoli.

Although NATO and U.S. officials rebuff suggestions that there is any effort to assassinate Kadafi, the Libyan government's assertion that he was in the targeted house could feed speculation that NATO may have had information about the leader's whereabouts.

The NATO officer would not discuss the intelligence that led to the attack or whether the alliance knew Kadafi was in the building when it was attacked.
