Editor's Note: Press TV interviews two former Manitoba chiefs who visited Tehran this week: Former Roseau River chief Terry Nelson and former Dakota Tipi chief Dennis Pashe. In the midst of the western media campaign to discredit Muslim countries by headlining stories of abused Muslim women it is important to look honestly at the way the US and Canada have systematically and institutionally separated, imprisoned, rendered infertile and murdered indigenous women, as the two former chiefs state, "for five hundred years." Former Chiefs Nelson and Pashe discuss how their own wealth (e.g. petroleum) is being robbed by the Harper government and sold to the US at favorable prices, giving nothing to the indigenous from whose land it is taken. They also highlight the need for indigenous leaders to go outside Canada in search of the international solidarity and support that they cannot find within the Canadian government. In this case, they seek to lay the groundwork for an alliance with the Iranian government. - LMB
