in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux and all allies helping to stop the Energy Transfer Partners’ Dakota Access Pipeline Project
They tried to tame me with drugs
They tried to frame me with thugs
They tried to lame me with bugs
But we resisted
They tried to maim me with greed
They tried to shame me with creed
They tried to name me with need
But we resisted
We heeded the prayers
We stalled them with hugs
we refused bounty from the hungry ghost snake oil
No job can you loot
No price can you put
on water
water is life
from the amniotic sac
to the tears that flow when someone cracks
the shell of this world — water is life
its endless flow
overcoming the strife
a faithful wife
to Mother Earth
yes she is
in this age
of gender-bender rife
life
circle is
a
not a pipeline!
