Even though Women’s breasts have become
the symbol of sex and sexuality in modern world,

yet, talking openly about Breast Cancer has remained a Taboo
 
A dear friend asked me once,
“Why do you write, why do you talk about Breast Cancer?”
Someone else asked me, “Why do you wear a Pink Ribbon?”
 
My answer to all,
“I am a soldier on front-line, fighting for my life,
fighting for my children, their children,
fighting for my sisters, my brothers, and my friends
I am fighting for every woman I know,
and for all the women I don’t know.
 
I know if I don’t face the enemy,
Fear and silence will take me before arrows of the Cancer
 
I invite you, the ones standing on the sideline,
“Come on board, finance my war,
make weapons for cure not to kill,
support my cause, and cheer me while I fight.”
 
I call upon all the mothers, the fathers, every brother, each lover,
and all the husbands,
Arm your daughters your sisters, your beloveds, your wives,
with Hope, Courage, and Support at the Battleground.
 
I am a woman fighting for the wounded, the maimed, and the fallen.
I am a soldier fighting for my life
Pink Ribbon is my ID, my Dog-Tag
I wear it on front-line of my war against Breast Cancer.
