Thousands of Libyans Are Dying-What Difference at This Point Does It Make? Printer friendly page Print This

When Hillary Clinton exclaimed before a Congressional Committee: “What difference at this point does it make?”, little did she know it would be the testimonial heard over and over again during the general election. And neither did the former U.S. Secretary of State realize that her callous reply to questions over four Americans who were killed during a terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, would come back to haunt her. (1)

But if human rights groups and on-the-ground journalists are to be believed, the same could be said of the thousands of Libyans who are still dying as a result of Hillary Clinton’s disputed global initiative program and foundation. What’s more, many Libyans are starting to wonder if they must continue to die in order to save her from herself and the embarrassing political scandals she instigated as then-Secretary of State.

She Came, She Saw, He Die…She Created a Failed State
WikiLeaks and the Podesta Emails have already shown how Hillary Clinton sold the State Department to the highest bidders belonging to private businesses and heads of state. Libya was no exception. She in fact made secret deals with local warlords and trans-nationals to not only privatize state-run public utilities and infrastructures, but to foster an illegal military coup that brutally murdered Libya’s leader Muammar el-Qaddafi.

But Mrs. Clinton’s “We came, we saw, he died!” coup backfired and gave rise to ISIS in Libya. It also ignited a sectarian civil war that led to the utter collapse of the state. New intense and chaotic battles between U.S.-NATO backed forces and ISIS, along with other militants, were indeed censored in the U.S. press during the general election. Neither was her quid pro quo arms shipments between ISIS in Libya and ISIS in Syria made known.

For now, non-governmental missions reported that U.S.-NATO bombardments of Libyan cities, along with other warring measures taken by Italy and France, have produced vast civilian casualties and an unprecedented refugee crisis. They also represent  a collective punishment, caused by a retaliatory Clinton Foundation that didn‘t get its way, and a U.S.-NATO presence that wants to destroy Libyan currency and African sovereignty.

Neither was the U.S.-NATO intervention purely humanitarian. To be sure, human rights groups note that Libya was not only the wealthiest African nation before Muammar el-Qaddafi was toppled, but it was economically independent. Now, thousands of detainees, including women and children, are languishing in prison without proper judicial review. Kidnappings, rapes, and targeted killings are also rampant, as are mass atrocities.

Africa’s New Masters Come in the Name of Oil, Money, and Power
Activists also say U.S.-NATO forces bombed Libya’s state-of-the-art irrigation system, destroying crops and orchards. Others claim the Clinton Global Initiative looted $7 billion in Libyan gold and silver with the aid of U.S. officials. Plans are also underway for France and the U.S. to loot 143 tons of Libyan gold, gold that was initially going to be used for a pan-African currency and gold standard based on Libya’s Dinar.(2)

What’s more, emails between Mrs. Clinton and Sidney Blumenthal reveal a U.S.-UK-France attack was driven by a desire to not only gain a greater share of Libya’s oil production, but to increase AFRICOM’s and the UK’s, France’s, and Israel’s military presence in North Africa. In effect, it would provide an opportunity to reassert their position in the Mediterranean, keeping Iran, Russia, and Turkey in check.

Hillary Clinton’s emails have furthermore shed light on the fact that U.S. militarism in Libya would disrupt an emerging pattern of Libyan independence, including a network of African collaboration that would facilitate greater African self-reliance. Meanwhile, the massive looting of Libya’s public and financial enterprises continues to take place under the guise of fighting ISIS, as does the deaths of thousands of Libyans.

Another thing to consider too is if the Obama Administration and Clinton Cartel will use their Libyan and Syrian connections to sabotage the presidency of Donald Trump. Indeed, some are already preparing for such a narrative, especially since there is nothing to say that criminal governments that plan regime changes around the world won’t do the same at home. Besides, Washington elites are known for their retaliation and revenge.

History Might Not Forgive
Literary and social critic Noam Chomsky said: “There is no moral difference between a Stealth bomber and a suicide bomber. They both kill innocent people for political reasons.” In place of a Stealth bomber, could one also add the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative? Moreover, would it not be fitting to include people like Hillary Clinton who use others for their own self promotion and financial gains?

As for “What difference at this point does it make…that thousands of Libyans are dying;” don’t be so sure that history will forgive Hillary Clinton or participants of the U.S.-UK-France-Israel Coalition, especially since an act cannot be judged only by distant outcomes while ignoring its immediate results.
