Looks like I've been "had" on the validity of George Bush's 91 IQ  . I want to apologize for any damage I have inflicted on those who fell back in stunned amazement that our current president was only half as smart as our former one when I took at face value a report by the Lovenstein Institute of Scranton Pennsylvania think tank released in July 2001.

The report purportedly included "high caliber historians, psychiatrists, sociologists, scientists in human behavior, and psychologists. Among their ranks are Dr. Werner R. Lovenstein, world-renowned sociologist, and Professor Patricia F. Dilliams, a world-respected psychiatrist." It was reported to have been "released to subscribing member universities and organizations within the education community."

Although the study was widely reported both at home and abroad, to include the UK Guardian, and featured in Gary Trudeau's Doonesbury (see below). I now find that this report was a spoof -- why am I always the last to know?

Fortunately, IQ isn't everything. Some high-IQ people who join Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and Bill Gates are Lex Luthor, Hannibal Lector and Adolf Hitler...ss
