In the United States we have sell out politicians and millionaire Congress persons.

But in Uruguay they have a President, Jose Mujica, that owns very little. So little that his entire asset is a 1987 VW Beetle. His total net worth is about a couple thousand of dollars or the estimate of the car. Actually that seems quite a high estimate for an old beetle, but it must be some beetle.

At any rate, President Mujica is considered a hero by his people.

...Mr Mujica, a former leftist guerrilla, took office in March and he is popular in the small ranching nation for his modest lifestyle and down-to-earth attitude.

Oh, and he is also a leftist that gives nearly all of his Presidential salary to the ruling leftist coalition and a housing program.

Don't you just hate those lefties. Thinking of people besides themselves. They are always trying to help people. They are always trying to make sure people are educated, have jobs, have housing, have food. They don't believe in Empire and killing people around the world. They fight the big corporate and financial power structure that controls the world, is polluting the planet, and is greedily being supported by government welfare and bailouts.

Don't you just hate lefties, like President Mujica, that can't be bought off?
