Quito, May 4 (Prensa Latina) About 45 guests from 16 countries and international organizations, as well as special guests from Latin America, will observe the referendum in Ecuador on Saturday, said Carlos Cortez, vice president of the National Election Council (CNE).
Delegates from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela, and several organizations will participate as observers.
Among the special guests are Chilean Sen. Isabel Allende, and former Chilean ministers Marigen Hornkohl, and Yerko Ljubetic.
All of the observers plan to meet with representatives from the privately-owned and state media, as well as legislators from the opposition and the ruling party, Cortez told reporters.
The delegates, who are members of election boards in their respective countries, will visit the polling committees, supervise voting results, analyze communication channels, and can make reports if needed, he explained.
