Dominique Strauss-Kahn. A sexual predator is aquitted of rape charges without going to trial. |
>
Editor's Comment: Yes - that's our title, certainly not CNN's where their anchor news people, including women are celebrating the acquittal of this rapist despite all the evidence of his guilt including forensic evidence. His victim, an African-American hotel cleaning woman "is devastated that she will not be able to explain what happened in that hotel room," according to her lawyer.
It's only one more case of the impunity with which the rich and powerful can conduct their lives above any law. Earlier, the NY prosecutor has rolled over, calling S-K's victim a liar, thus obtaining the release of Strauss-Kahn from jail. Now the same "prosecutor" who has put so many others in prison for far lesser crimes has obtained this slimeball's acquittal. This is the corruption and charade of what poses as the U.S. Justice System. It's also interesting that they've engineered this acquittal on the day of their planned final assault on Tripoli which appears to be falling to US/NATO and their mercenaries. The timing of Strauss-Kahn's acquittal allows him to slip through the judiciary and the news unscathed. CNN is also celebrating what appears to be the crushing of the Libyan government today, drooling over the arrest and murder of one of the sons of Col. Qadaffi.

Charges against Strauss-Kahn to be dropped, accuser's attorney says
CNN Report
Former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn will no longer face criminal charges related to allegations that he sexually assaulted a hotel housekeeper, the housekeeper's attorney said Monday after meeting with prosecutors.
Prosecutors had raised questions about the accuser's credibility.
Strauss-Kahn was indicted on charges that he sexually assaulted the woman in his luxury New York City hotel suite in May. His attorneys insist any sexual encounter was consensual. Strauss-Kahn pleaded not guilty to the charges.
On July 1, a judge freed Strauss-Kahn from house arrest after prosecutors told the court that his accuser admitted she had lied about the specifics of her whereabouts after the incident and, in the past, in the details of an asylum application and information on tax forms. Prosecutors said she admitted lying on the asylum application about having been a victim of a gang rape, even providing details of an attack – and later admitting it never happened.
The accuser and her attorneys had said she was attacked by Strauss-Kahn, and that her case should go to trial.
