Libyan mercenaries are preparing to attack Bani Walid. NATO laid siege on the city with their mercenaries surrounding the city. The people are desperate with their electricity cut off for one week and their dwindling water and food limited to what they have in storage. |
Everything was set to take over Bani Walid, a desert city, and expel Gaddafi's supporters, said the chief negotiator of the rebels, Abdulah Kenshil, who refrained from saying whether or not military force would be used.
According to contradictory reports in the capital, the rebels reached an agreement with Bani Walid's tribal chiefs, but the terms of an alleged surrender were unknown following days of firm resistance to the ultimatum of the National Transition Council.
According to Kenshil, the rebels "are waiting precisely for the order to assault Bani Walid, and are ready to send medical supplies, gas supplies and anything that might be needed."
Parallel to the negotiations, NATO planes dropped fliers warning Gaddafi's supporters, including alleged foreigners, to lay down their weapons and leave the country.
