Time Lapse videos by Norwegian landscape photographer Terje Sørgjerd

Editor's note: The northern lights, or aurora borealis, are seen when the solar wind stream hits Earth's magnetic field, sparking bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. Norwegian landscape photographer Terje Sørgjerd spent one week around Kirkenes and the Norway-Russia border, in -25 Celsius temperature, to make the time-lapse video of the Aurora Borealis. Consider dwelling now for a few minutes on Canadian Neil Young's song, Pocahantas with the opening lines ...

Aurora borealis
The icy sky at night
Paddles cut the water
In a long and hurried flight
From the white man
To the fields of green
And the homeland
We've never seen.
