Remember Yo Mama

billions of dollars being spent
so many people getting killed or paraplegically bent,
with maybe 1000 u.s. military bases worldwide
time to turn this belligerent tide...
oh army barracks ohbomba
do your part and show some love for yo mama
earth,
can all these wars get a period
instead of a long drawn-out comma?
and how about a peaceful nobel chat with the dalai lama,
with the indigenous on how to work with pachamama,
with the hare krishnas chanting hare rāma,
and a lesson from the spanish te ama,
(btw what’s with the off-shoring in the bahamas?)
remember vietnam, uh
what about osama?
’cause there’s this foxnews headline from december 2001
“report: bin laden already dead”1
so maybe it’s all a not-so-mellow-drama,
a photo-op framed as us versus them
but for everyone
the bombs and the mines and the bloodshed
leave a residue of trauma...
remember yo mama, yo mama, yo mama,
mama earth
whose deep black soil
is of priceless worth
